The Mâconnais, the most southerly terroir in Bourgogne, covers a 10 km-wide and 35 km-long strip of vines, between Sennecey-le-Grand and Saint-Vérand. It nestles between 2 valleys, the Grosne to the west and the Saône to the east. It has 3 levels of appellations: Régionale, Village and Premier Cru AOCs.
